Dear Frewsburg Families and Community Members,
Welcome back! The 2019-2020 school year can be characterized as a time of learning, achieving, and growing here at Frewsburg Central School District. Our goal to provide the best possible education in a safe learning environment has driven a lot of changes throughout the district. It's often said that change is the only constant in life. Yet we often resist change because of the risk associated with it. I commend those that are working through our changes and persevering through this time of growth.
"Any change, even a change for the better, is always accompanied by drawbacks and discomforts." — Arnold Bennett
Robert H. Jackson Elementary School has seen a change in the location of parent drop-off, the main office, the school nurse’s office, and the Committee on Special Education office in an effort to reduce the back-up of traffic on Ivory Road during arrival and dismissal times. Students have done a remarkable job finding their way to these new locations. This change has greatly improved our traffic flow in the morning and afternoons. Please be sure to check out our new school sign that designates our main entrance.
In order to provide students with longer instructional blocks and fewer transitions throughout the school day, the MS/HS has changed to a block schedule. I am confident that opportunities for our students will continue to improve as administration and the guidance office makes changes to refine this schedule. As always, we ask that you contact the guidance office with any concerns regarding your child’s schedule.
After a year of navigating through providers, the district has finally been able to add a school resource officer (SRO). Deputy Rob Clark, has been invaluable in making relationships with even our youngest students. This change has positively affected our school climate as Officer Clark’s role has been that of a law enforcement officer, an instructor, and a mentor. Please help me to welcome him when you see him at our school events.
Thank you for your continued faith in us during this time of change. Your partnership and collaboration is very much appreciated. On behalf of the Board of Education of the Frewsburg Central School District, I would like to thank you for your continued support.
Have a happy and healthy Thanksgiving holiday!
