We are proud of our partnerships and grateful to our community – from voters who consistently support our schools during budget and capital project votes, to the countless number of volunteers who dedicate their free time to help kids, to our towns that always respond positively to requests for assistance. We could not do it without your support.
Capital Improvement Project 2019
Young and Wright Architectural is leading our district through this capital improvement project. NYSED approval has been obtained, the project has gone out to bid. The bids came in very favorable. I am happy to announce that we will be able to complete everything as planned and even be able to complete construction on alternate items. Construction on this project will occur over two years with RHJ classrooms, gym, and MS/HS cafeteria/kitchen being completed spring 2021. We anticipate construction on all other areas to begin early July 2020. This work includes:
Repair masonry and existing chimney
Repair thru-wall flashing to stop leaks in the new gym
Replace deteriorating doors and steps
Replace 39,000 sq. ft. of the parking lot and driveway not completed under the current project
Replace classroom blinds for improved lighting
Renovate Kitchen/Cafeteria, including serving lines
Improve ventilation and daylighting by replacing classroom blinds and adding window screens
Renovate 4th, 5th, 6th grade classrooms with new flooring, paint, and cabinetry
Update gymnasium by installing a new floor, wall pads, basketball hoops, and repairing deteriorating masonry
Energy Performance Contract
Trane is leading our district through the energy performance contract. Voters approved an additional 10% of aid to be received from the New York State Education Department. Work is currently underway to replace our entire boiler room at the MS/HS, replace lighting, and complete building envelope items.
Capital Outlay Project
The 2019-2020 budget approved by the voters (May 2019) includes $100,000 for a capital outlay project to complete masonry work at the MS/HS. Young and Wright Architectural is also the architectural firm for this project. Work will begin on June 15, 2020.
