About the District

The Frewsburg Central School District serves over 700 PreK-12 students housed in two buildings on separate campuses.  The district encompasses 75 square miles in the southeastern portion of Chautauqua County.  The district is located approximately three miles east of the City of Jamestown.  The population of the school district is estimated to be 4,500.  Our population is centered around the unincorporated village of Frewsburg and is comprised of five townships which include:  Carroll, Poland, Busti, South Valley, and Kiantone.  

The district is distinguished by the quality of people who are associated with the schools.  Frewsburg has a knowledgeable, skilled, and veteran instructional staff.  Strong parent participation and support in Frewsburg are considered essential to maintaining an environment for effective learning.  Our facilities and grounds are well-kept.  The school and its related activities are the focal points of the community.  

The instructional program is well articulated and utilizes up-to-date teaching techniques, including extensive use of technology at all levels.  High-caliber, comprehensive, and successful educational programs provide the foundation for the quality reflected in Frewsburg's proud record of student achievement.  The administration and staff are actively involved in the New York Standards initiatives.  In conjunction with Jamestown Community College (JCC), the district offers many college-level courses to eligible high school students.  Frewsburg students are able to graduate from high school with up to 48 college credits already attained.  In addition, the district's students are also provided the opportunity to participate in a wide range of career and technical education courses through BOCES-operated programs.  In order to capitalize on shared services.  Frewsburg Central is the premier user of distance learning programs in all of western New York.  

The district enjoys strong community support for its academic program and extra-curricular activities.  Extra-curricular activities for the students include an extensive middle and high school sports program and outstanding music offerings.  The students present a school musical each year which is one of the best in western New York.  The board and community are working together to share ideas and promote the welfare of the community.
