 Annual Budget Vote - Notice of Important Changes due to Covid-19 Closure 

Due to the NYS PAUSE Order and the Governor's Executive Order 202.39, the District is required to make the following changes to the District's Budget Hearing, Budget Vote and Board of Education Member election for the 2020-2021 school year budget vote and Board Member election process.


1. Date of Annual Budget Hearing:  Thursday  May 28th, 2020

Please note that the District's Budget Hearing was held remotely on Thursday May 28th at 6:30 pm. District residents can view the Budget Hearing presentation by clicking here.

2. Date of Annual Budget Vote and Board Member Election: Tuesday, June 16, 2020

Please note that the District's budget vote and Board of Education member election will be held by absentee ballot ONLY.

All qualified voters of the District are eligible to vote by absentee ballot.  The District will mail absentee ballots with postage-paid return envelopes to registered voters.  Any qualified voter who is not registered to vote with the Chautauqua County Board of Elections or registered voters who do not receive a ballot by May 28, 2020 may request a ballot by contacting the District Clerk Laura Smith at (716) 569-7041 or by email at lsmith@frewsburgcsd.org. Ballots can be returned by mail  to 26 Institute St. Frewsburg, NY 14738.

Ballots that are delivered to the district by hand must be received by 5:00PM on Tuesday, June 9, 2020.

All ballots that are received by the District by mail must be received by 5:00 pm on Election Day, June 16th, 2020.

3. Voter Qualifications

In order to qualify to vote on the District's Budget and Board Members elections you must meet all of the following qualifications:

  • Be a U.S. Citizen
  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Be a resident of the school district for at least 30 days prior to the budget vote date (Tuesday June 9th)
  • Not be prohibited from voting under NYS Education Law
