• Dear Parents,

              My name is Lisa Murray and I am a first grade teacher at RHJ.  I am a graduate of Frewsburg Central School and I have lived in Frewsburg my whole life.  I am married with 2 sons.  I am so happy to be teaching in the town I grew up in.  I have been at RHJ for 19 years, and the majority of my 19 years has been teaching first graders.    The amount of academic growth that takes place in Grade 1 is amazing.  It is so rewarding as a teacher to see six and seven year olds grow and make big gains, especially in the area of reading.   I am so excited to be your child's teacher.  If you ever have any questions , please don’t  hesitate to ask me.  If your child is concerned and worried about something (even if it is something that seems of little importance to us and may be of huge importance to them), please let me know.  I strongly believe that communication between home and school is extremely important. 

              On Mondays,  I always send a newsletter to let you know what we are learning about in class.  I will always let you know about important events, reminders, etc.  Each Friday (unless we have a short week or if I’m absent), I will send home a “Weekly Report” to let you know how your child’s week went.  This is a great way for us to communicate back and forth.  I’m always available to meet, talk on the phone, email, etc.  I stay after school most days as well.  I also utilize the Remind App for last minute reminders. 

              Most importantly, I will do everything I can to make your child’s first grade learning experience exciting.
