Capital Projects

  • MS HS Picture

We are proud of our partnerships and grateful to our community – from voters who consistently support our schools during budget and capital project votes, to the countless number of volunteers who dedicate their free time to help kids, to our towns that always respond positively to requests for assistance. We could not do it without your support.

    Summary of Previous Capital Projects

    Capital Improvement Project 2019
Young and Wright Architectural is leading our district through the design phase of the voter approved (May 2019) upcoming capital improvement project.  Once designed, this project will be submitted to the New York State Education Department (NYSED) for approval.   Once NYSED approval is obtained, the project will go out to bid.  We have broken the project into two phases as follows:

Phase 1 Roof (1.1 million)-Barring any complications at NYSED, construction could start in the spring of 2020
Phase 2 ($4.5 million)  Barring any complications at NYSED, construction could start the summer of 2020

    This Includes:
    Repair masonry and existing chimney
Repair thru wall flashing to stop leaks in new gym
    Replace deteriorating doors and steps
    Renovate Kitchen/Cafeteria, including serving lines
Replace 39,000 sq. ft. of parking lot and driveway not completed under current project
Replace classroom blinds for improved lighting
Renovate 4th, 5th, 6th grade classrooms with new flooring, paint, and cabinetry
Update gymnasium by installing new floor, wall pads, basketball hoops, and repairing deteriorating masonry
Improve ventilation and daylighting by replacing classroom blinds and adding window screens

    Energy Performance Contract
Trane is leading the design phase of our energy performance contract.  Voters approved an additional 10% of aid to be received from the New York State Education Department.  We are looking to replace our entire boiler room at the MS/HS, replace lighting, and complete some building envelope items.  The goal for this project is to meet the deadlines established by Phase 2 of the capital improvement project 2019 as stated above so that the work can be done simultaneoulsy.

    Capital Outlay Project
The 2019-2020 budget approved by the voters (May 2019) includes $100,000 for a capital outlay project to complete masonry work at the MS/HS.   Young and Wright Architectural is also designing this project.  Following the design phase, submission to NYSED will occur.  This masonry work is slated to begin spring 2019.
